Beginning in 1966 as the St. Timothy
Players presenting shows in the St. Timothy Church hall, the North
Toronto Players has entertained many thousands, primarily with the
works of Gilbert & Sullivan. As the productions have grown
and their requirements have changed, so has our venue; moving first to
the Lawrence Park Community Church hall, then to Lawrence Park
Collegiate, to Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, then to the Leah Posluns Theatre and our last four productions were north of Toronto in the Vaughan City Playhouse. This year we are back in North Toronto at the recently refurbished York Woods Library Theatre.
The NTP has built up a
reputation of providing exciting, new twists on classic G&S
musicals - our recent shows have
included a ‘Jersey Shore’ adaptation of The
Mikado,the action-packed Yeomen
of the Guard, a monster-filled, horror show adaptation of Ruddygore and a Spy vs Spy '24' inspired production of Yeomen of the Guard.
Over the years, our emphasis has not changed: a warm welcome to all our
members and a commitment to providing quality entertainment.
